Why Virgo Season Is Made for a Food and Beauty Edit

Virgo is an earth sign, and in astrology it is linked with daily routines, practical wellness and the details that make life feel smooth.

Food and beauty are two of the most everyday parts of self care, so they are perfect for a Virgo season edit.

Late summer also brings new schedules and busier weeks. So a few simple systems in your kitchen and bathroom make that shift feel lighter, and they carry you right into cozy fall.

Keep What Works

This is an edit, so keep what works, clear what you no longer use and make the good stuff easier to reach.

Think easy changes you can repeat, because those are the ones that turn into habits you enjoy.

Above all, steady and luxe is the vibe for this whole post.

Eating Well Without the Pressure

Is eating well part of your wellness priorities this season?

If it is, healthy eating can start with an easy plan that fits your budget and your week.

Often, the easy changes eventually build into bigger habits.

So start by naming what matters most to you right now, or the biggest thing getting in your way.

For example, maybe you do not enjoy cooking, so meal prep still feels like a big lift. That is so normal, and it simply shows you where to begin.

Once you know the real barrier, you can choose a solution that fits your life instead of someone else’s routine.

What is the one thing that makes eating well feel hard for you right now?

Leave a comment below, I would love to know.

Easy Meal Prep in Steps

If cooking is not your favorite, lean on easier meals with fewer steps. Some low effort ideas I love:

Salads, including ones that are not lettuce based.

Soups.

One pot meals.

Slow cooker meals.

Oven baked sheet pan dinners.

Breaking meal prep down like a project helps too, especially if you know you would love having it done each week.

Prep a bit throughout the week, so meal prep for the week fits around your other plans.

Here is what works for me. To begin with, prep one component. For example, that could mean having your containers washed, dried and ready to fill, or curating a thoughtful grocery list.

Then make the shopping part fun. If you love to shop, roam each aisle for ideas on what to try next. You can treat yourself to something new, or if you are on a budget, save it as a treat to look forward to on your next trip.

Not a fan of shopping in person? If so, grocery delivery and pickup can save you time, and pickup is often free.

After your groceries are home, put them away as soon as you walk in. Wash your fruits and veggies so they are ready to grab as snacks and ready to go when you cook.

Build a Few Easy Foods Into Your Week

When the basics are ready, add a few easy foods that make busy days feel simpler.

Cook one protein if you have the energy. I like to cook mine in bulk and pair it with different foods, so I get a variety of meals without much extra effort.

Also, plan a few snacks. I do not eat a lot of traditional snacks, but I love having bite size snacks and mini meals on hand, especially on busy days or low effort self care days when you want a cute Girl Dinner.

Keep one simple dinner in rotation for the nights you are tired and the day ran longer than expected.

Then, over time, build a list of delicious recipes you love and rotate them.

Overall, the goal is making good choices easier and enjoying the food on your plate.

If you want a gentle way to stay consistent, Aurela, my free app, has a Nutrition screen with Today’s plate. Today's plate gives you three check ins a day with nothing to count, a sweet moment of showing up for yourself and the eating habits you choose.

Review Your Inputs

Take a moment to look at what you take in on a regular basis, since this includes so much more than food.

Think about your day through each dimension of wellness, including:

The activities you do most often.

What you eat and drink, including your coffee routine.

News and entertainment.

Conversations and the people you spend time with.

Social media and how long you scroll.

If something tends to leave you feeling more anxious, more behind or more scattered, notice that.

Then look for the opposite. What feels uplifting and gives you extra encouragement to have a good day?

Then make more room for the inputs that feel good.

Even one shift, like a quiet coffee before you check your phone, can make your mornings feel calmer.

The Virgo Season Beauty Edit

Everything has an expiration date, including our beauty products.

When was the last time you cleaned, organized and truly reviewed your skincare and makeup?

Self care includes how you move, what you eat and what you put on your skin, so it makes sense to use products that are fresh and suit your needs.

Here is my quick beauty edit:

Firstly, take everything out of your skincare or beauty drawer.

Secondly, check expiration dates. Toss anything that has expired, anything that is nearly empty and anything you are unsure about.

Look at what is left, then notice what you reach for most.

Last, make a restock list for the favorites that are now empties.

Trying new products is so fun. Give your collection a regular review so your drawer stays fresh and easy to shop from.

Keep a note on your phone of the empties you want to repurchase. When something runs out, you already know whether it earned its spot.

Build a Beauty Routine You Will Use

After that, sort what is left into three groups: products that fit your real routine, special occasion items and things you never use.

Then put back the items you will keep and plan to use.

For example, I like to be strategic and place my dailies on a cute marble and gold tray in the bathroom. The tray looks luxe, and everything I need is right there.

Also, I am super intentional about switching out my shower and bath products often. Switching keeps things exciting and makes sure I use everything I buy.

With lots of favorites, it is so easy to stick with one or two and forget the rest. So rotating your core products each week, month or season feels like a fun refresh.

When you have picked the skincare routine you will keep, Aurela’s Beauty Rituals has a Skincare card for it. You get an AM checklist (cleanse, moisturize, SPF) and a PM checklist (cleanse, treat, moisturize), and it starts fresh every day.

After all, a simpler routine that fits your life is easier to stay consistent with, and it helps you see what you love. As something runs out, decide whether to repurchase or try something different, which is easier on a budget too.

In short, this can be a quick and happy review!
